Synthetic Sleeping Bags
CARE
A synthetic sleeping bag is durable and easy to care for. The most effective way to care for it is to keep it clean. You can reduce the need to wash it by using a sleeping bag liner, a sleeping mat and spot cleaning any marks.
- do not bleach
- do not iron
- do not dry clean
- machine or hand wash - see below
- secure all zippers and tabs during washing
- tumble dry at low setting. Too hot may melt fabric.
WASHING
Machine Wash: Use a front end loader on a gentle cycle, set warm (upto 30deg C) and use a pure mild soap.
Handwash:
1. fill bath to 150mm with warm water and add pure mild soap.
2. add bag and gently massage into the water until it is completly soaked.
Important: Do not try to lift the bag out of the tub heavy with water as the material or inner baffles may tear.
3. let soak for 1-4 hours and then let the water out.
4. release the dirty water and refill the tub, massaging the water into the bag. Repeat until suds free.
5. when clean press as much water as you can out of the bag.
6. still in the tub, fold the ends of the semi-dry bag in towards the centre, press firmly to squeeze out excess water.
7. then dry in a tumble dryer on a low setting, or air dry flat over a couple of towels.
