Easy-Fit Kickstand
There are many different bike stands and each works a little differently. The kickstand is the most common, since it comes on most standard bicycles. It is called a kickstand because that is what you basically do to it when you want to use it. It is a metal bar with a right angle bend at its end that is folded up on the side of the bike. When you need to use it, you kick it or press on it with your foot to push it down into position. It has a slight bend to it that places it at roughly a 30 or 35 degree angle to the bike when on the ground. Once in place the right angle bend at the bottom of the bar is on the ground and keeps the bike from falling over.
