This is a great "to be seen" light.
At a pinch you could use this as a "to see" light. It throws a diffuse light giving a reasonable beam upto 5m with some surround illumination. Just don't expect to travel at 30kmh and rely on this to see clearly at night!!...you will be seen clearly though.
