It's amazing what rebuilding in carbon can do. In this case, FSA's DH bar is 170g lighter in carbon. Typical of FSA's attention to detail is how they reinforce both the brake lever and stem clamp zones as well as texture the stem clamp area. The result is added structural integrity and reduced chance of slippage, and slippage can be bad news for carbon. Of course, carbon usually means extra comfort in handlebars?damping--and it does indeed make the big hits feel smaller to the hands, which is no small thing.
