It's that time of year ... time to get in shape. Head to the hills for a road cycling camp for grownups! 

Are you a serious cyclist ready to improve your road climbing conditioning? Looking for a challenge? Then Hill Week is the road climbing camp for you. 

Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect playground to get your legs ready for the upcoming century and summer road cycling season. Cycle the Blue Ridge Parkway, explore small back roads, and (did we mention?) climb lots of hills. The Roanoke Valley is in full bloom during the early spring and Hill Week allows you to discover its beauty while honing your cycling skills. After a week of riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you are assured to leave in better climbing shape than when you arrived, and have lots of fun doing it.

  You’re an avid recreational, hardcore, or racing cyclist, or looking to become one, and want to jump-start your cycling shape and climbing abilities heading into the riding season.

What:  A week of riding that will tax your legs and lungs and put you ahead of the pack back home, with 4000 to 8000 feet elevation gain per day. The climbs will vary from short and steep to long slow grinds, but the summits will always be welcome. Each day will feature a shorter and longer course - you can blow up your Strava with up to 55,000 total feet of climbing over the week if you choose!

When:  Mid-April – just in time to tune your fitness up for the early centuries of the year, or the start of your racing season.

Where:  The beautiful Blue Ridge Region of Virginia. You’ll be based in Roanoke, Virginia, voted #1 rated outdoor town by Blue Ridge Outdoors. Spring will be in full bloom, with temperatures ranging from the mid 50s to the low 70s for spectacular cycling.

Why:  Because short of illegal doping activity, nothing will improve your cycling performance more than climbing your ass off for six straight days. And because spectacular riding terrain awaits you, along with like-minded cyclists – new friends – to enjoy it with. And because you’re tempted by alternative outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, paddleboarding and more, and because you enjoy amazing coffee, fantastic food, microbreweries and music… in short, because you want to put an edge on your fitness that will make your ride buddies back home envious, and you want to have a ton of fun doing it.


Hill Week Roanoke is a cycling camp/vacation for any cyclist wanting to get in shape for the upcoming road cycling season.

The beauty of Hill Week is that you set your own schedule. You'll have a set of ride cue sheets and can choose the order for rides. BUT, if you want to ride with the group make sure you're in the Cambria Suites (Hill Week HQ) lobby at 8:45 a.m. for the "ride of the day."

Rides leave from the Cambria Suites at 9 a.m. daily with an out and back or circuit route, ending at the starting point.

Each day will include A and B routes. A routes are 75-90 miles per day with 5,000 to 8,000 feet of climbing and 70-100 climbing feet per mile. Riders who complete all A rides for the week will climb 45,000+ feet. B routes are 33-51 miles per day with 4,000 to 5,000 climbing feet per day and 100-120 climbing feet per mile. Riders finishing all B rides will climb 30,000+ feet.

Detailed cue sheets (paper and digital) will be provided. These are unsupported rides; you will need to carry liquid and food, along with basic bike maintenance supplies. There are stores along most routes where refills can be purchased. 

Rides are, of course, optional. You can mix A and B rides, or take rest days as the mood strikes. For a change of pace, consider a mountain bike ride on some of the best mountain biking trails in the country, or a hike on some of the East’s best trails (just a short walk or drive from Hill Week HQ).

We use Australia Post for all of our deliveries except for Bulky Items. For bulky items we use Direct Freight Couriers.



Our internal shipping charge calculator will tell you the cost of your postage prior to your checkout. In most cases buying more than 1 item will result in cost savings to you. 

  • Small items up to 500g cost  around $7 postage. Depending on the weight and size you will get 2 sometimes 3 small items posted for this amount.
  • Most larger items post for about $12 and you will generally be able to add 1-3 small items at no extra charge
  • Once you purchase products over 3 kg in weight there is generally, only a small amount of extra postage charged


You can add smaller items together with bulky items and there will generally be no or a small added postage cost.
Ordering items such as 2 bike cases may not result in any savings due to their volume. Ordering mid-size items like two fluid trainers together will result in very good savings though. You will get your quote for shipping costs before you checkout.
