The Kivdelo Rookie 12 balance bike is designed to provide your little one with the perfect foundation for many years of great riding. We designed the Rookie 12 to not only be easy to ride but also easy to learn how to ride. Putting your child on a balance bike teaches them to balance, and balance is a primary factor in learning to ride a bike.

Learning balance before pedals are introduced speeds up the transition to a pedal bike, it is far easier to learn one new skill than trying to learn 3 at one time (such as balance, pedaling, and braking), especially if you are 2 years old. By mastering the ride on our Rookie 12 early, your child will soon be ready for a pedal bike, where they can enjoy a ride on our super cute and equally awesome Rookie Hybrid balance to pedal bikes.

Balance Bikes for 2 year olds

A 12" balance bike is a perfect bike for 2-year-olds (and up!) as they teach kids to balance on two wheels and how to ride independently. Balance bikes are also called strider bikes, glider bikes, running bikes, or toddler push bikes. The Rookie 12" is the lightest balance bike with air-filled tyres in Australia.

Children can start riding balance bikes when they’re around 18 months to two years old. In most cases, children will move on to a bike with pedals at around the age of four. There isn’t a top-end restriction on age, though, and you can even get balance bikes for older kids and adults. It’s important to remember that balance bikes need to be the correct size for their rider: bike fit is just as important for kids as it is for adults. Of course, children grow quickly between the ages of two and five, so ideally you’ll want to select a balance bike that is adjustable.

Let them enjoy the feeling of movement under their own power. As children get stronger and more confident, the gliding gets longer and faster. Once they reach this point, they’re already past stabilizers.

In general we find that deliveries to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane metro and VIC regional are made within 1-3 working days of receiving your SHIPPED email, NSW, SA, TAS, ACT and NT take 2-5 working days. Regional QLD, WA and other remote areas will take 4-7 working days.

Please note these are only expected deliveries times and delays out of our control may occur with Postal and Courier services.

We use Australia Post for all of our deliveries except for Bulky Items. For bulky items we use Direct Freight Couriers.
