Seattle Cycling Tours
The growth of Urban Bicycle Tours around the world, means that there is a growing movement toward discovering cities by bike. The rich diversity and history of any city you visit is magnified when seeing it with a guide while riding a bike. More active then sitting on a bus, and more in contact with the sounds, smells, and activity of a city, it's a great way to really become part of the trip rather than just observing it.
Seattle Cycling Tours wants to take you on a bike trip. It might be on our basic city tour to Pioneer Square, the Waterfront, Seattle Center and South Lake Union. During these two plus-hour tours our guide gives you an informed overview of the city and much more. Learn about Seattle's past and future while gliding along on one of our bicycles.
Or, it might be on one of our longer more active tours, (named by BICYCLING magazine as one of the ten best guided tours in the US) that takes us to the nearby emerald gem of Bainbridge Island We start our journey on a ferry boat, ride our bikes for a few hours and enjoy great vistas of the waters and beaches of Puget Sound.
Or, perhaps Ballard, the Ballard Locks and Fremont speak to your inner cycle explorer. This tour covers some of the hip neighborhoods away from downtown, covers 13 mostly flat miles, and is great way to see a wide range of Seattle's many splendors. Check out our Ballard/Fremont Page to learn more.
Capitol Hill always satisfies with it's magnificent Volunteer Park, a chance to climb to the water tower, a quick tasty bakery stop. Then it's downhill to Pioneer Square, working up Second Avenue's bike track past the Seattle Art Museum and the Pike Place Market. Our Capitol Hill Bike Tour is designed to offer a whole range of Seattle, old, eclectic, new, and tasty.
Georgetown is definitely a place to see. Once called the "Cesspool of Seattle" Georgetown is an eclectic mix of the arts community and the industrial tech community all rolled into the oldest neighborhood of Seattle. To get to Georgetown We ride out of town to the south, see breweries old and new, the outstanding Hat and Boots in Oxbow Park, Seattle's longest running grocery store, and traverse the busy shipping neighborhood of Harbor Island with ships, trucks and trains all at work making sure that all that commerce gets moved from one place to another. Seattle might be know for it's tech community but shipping has always been the backbone that keeps Seattle humming.
Beyond all of that though we want to provide you with information that will make your visit to the Pacific Northwest as bicycle friendly as can be by providing access to free on-line info, maps and links. and other pertinent and helpful bicycle related information.
