Hub Size O.L.D. Guide

Front Hubs O.L.D.

  • 100 mm — this is the most common size for Road & MTB
  • 110 mm — Boost MTB front 
  • 120 mm — uncommon - found on older bikes
  • 140 mm — rare - bolt-on/touring variants 
  • 150 mm — some fat-bike or cargo bikes

Rear Hubs O.L.D.

  • 120 mm — older track 
  • 126 mm — 1980's steel 5/6sp MTB | Older road - including 27 x 1 1/4
  • 130 mm — early 1990's 6/7sp MTB | modern ROAD Quick Release
  • 135 mm — modern MTB 
  • 142 mm — modern thru-axle MTB
  • 148 mm — Boost thru-axle MTB 27.5 & 29
  • 157 mm — Super Boost - DH
  • 150–190+ mm — Fat bike

 

Note this is a general guide only as the 1980's thru to 2000 was a transition time for hub width - particularly MTB.
