THULE REAR WHEEL RETENTION DEVICE

Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement rear wheel tray for the Thule T2 hitch-mounted bike racks. This unit replaces one lost or damaged rear wheel tray for your Thule T2 platform style hitch-mounted bike carrier. This unit allows you to secure your bike's rear wheel to the rack. A new wheel strap is also included. This is designed to fit models TH916-XT, TH916-XTR, TH917-XT, and TH917-XTR. It's made from a very durable plastic construction, I do want to point out that when you're ready to replace the wheel tray, you will need to remove the end cap from the rack at the very end of that bar, or platform, and you'll need to remove the retention screw that's at the end of the platform.

This will allow you to remove the old wheel tray and then simply slide on your new one. Just be sure to replace the screw and the end cap when you're done. It's got two notches over here, so that way you can fit the strap and whatever notch works best for your particular wheel size and bike. This comes over, goes through this area here, pull out the slack, push down the lever to finish the tightening process.
