This chainring is compatible with 9–12 speed chains and is designed to work with hub gear drivetrains. For the best fit, pair it with BCR-60 chainring bolts, sold separately.

Size guide:

Chainring size is measured by the number of teeth, and that number directly affects how the bike feels to pedal. A smaller chainring makes climbing easier and keeps pedalling lighter, while a larger chainring increases gearing for faster riding on flatter ground.

  • Smaller sizes are better for steeper terrain, easier pedalling, and lower-speed control.
  • Larger sizes are better for faster riding, higher cadence speed, and flatter routes.
  • If you increase chainring size significantly, check frame clearance before ordering.
  • Choose the size that best suits your terrain, riding style, and preferred pedalling feel.

Worldwide reviews summarised by the Velogear Team

Worldwide feedback on hard-wearing e-bike chainrings like this one is generally very positive, with riders valuing strength, consistent shifting feel, and long service life above low weight. Reviews often praise hardened steel construction for its durability on daily-use e-bikes, especially when paired with Bosch and Shimano Steps systems. The main trade-off mentioned is added weight compared with alloy chainrings, but most riders see that as a fair compromise for better longevity and reliability.
