Quick Tip:

• If your bike is mid-90s or newer → you almost certainly need 28.6 mm (1 1/8").
• If your bike is vintage steel from the late 80s/early 90s → check for 25.4 mm (1").

Threadless (1 1/8") Forks

• Became the standard from the mid-90s onwards.
• You’ll know if you have a threadless fork if:
  • The steerer is smooth (no threads).
  • Your stem clamps around the outside of the fork steerer.
• By far the most common on 26" MTBs built after the mid-90s.

Can I use replace my suspension forks with this item?

A 402 mm rigid fork will usually not be a good substitute for a suspension fork on a bike designed around suspension travel. It works best on frames originally intended for rigid forks, or possibly on certain touring/commuter 26" frames.
