Avid MY11 ORGANIC ALLOY CODE Disc BRAKE PADS

SRAM Code disc brake pads are designed to fit all versions of their four-piston Code freeride/downhill brakes, including Avid-branded brakes. The organic (resin) compound is quieter than the metallic but doesn't last as long, especially in wet/muddy conditions. Alloy backplates on these pads save a little extra weight and won't rust.
Organic/semi-metallic/resin pads are softer and tend to be quieter. They offer more initial bite, but fade faster than metallic pads on longer descents. Do not use organic/semi-metallic/resin pads in wet conditions.
Metallic pads last longer, handle heat better, and resist fade better under heavier braking loads, making them good for downhill. In wet conditions, metallic pads are a must.
